What we collect

BaseWater collects the information needed to run the audit, save your report, follow up on service requests, and measure whether our local marketing is working.

  • Audit answers: ZIP code, home ownership, bathroom count, main water concern, symptoms, home age, water source, tap-water habits, household vulnerability answers, filtration status, years at address, and filter hesitation.
  • Contact and scheduling details: first name or name, email address, optional phone number, optional home address, waitlist source, consultation booking status, and Cal.com booking identifiers when you book or change a visit.
  • Report and service records: saved report snapshots, lead records, household records, service-area status, internal operations logs, installed-system records, service events, and subscriber welcome email history if you become a customer.
  • Marketing and technical signals: UTM parameters, referral or creator codes, landing page, referrer, anonymous and session IDs, browser/user-agent data, hashed IP address for attribution events, and local browser storage used to remember audit progress, last ZIP, and first/last marketing touch.

If you choose “Use my location,” your browser asks for permission and sends coordinates to a reverse-geocoding service to find a ZIP code. We use that ZIP to continue the audit and do not intentionally store precise coordinates in BaseWater lead or audit records.

How we use it

We use this information to generate and preserve your water report, determine whether your ZIP is inside our current install area, email your report when requested, send internal lead notifications, schedule and sync consultations, maintain household and service records, send reminder or customer onboarding emails, prevent abuse, and understand campaign and referral performance. We do not sell your personal data.

Analytics and attribution

We use PostHog for product analytics such as page views, page-leave events, and button or booking events. We also store first-touch and last-touch attribution in BaseWater records so we can connect audit starts, leads, bookings, installs, and customer emails back to the campaign or partner that produced them.

Service providers

We use Supabase to store audit, lead, household, report, attribution, and service records; Resend to send report, reminder, internal notification, and customer onboarding emails; Cal.com to schedule consultations; PostHog for analytics; and infrastructure providers such as Upstash for rate limiting. These providers process information for BaseWater so the product can run.

Data storage and security

BaseWater stores operational data in Supabase and protects admin-only routes with internal access controls. We use encrypted connections where supported and keep service-role database credentials out of public browser code. No internet service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we limit access to data needed to operate the audit, scheduling, support, and service workflows.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from reminder and onboarding emails using the links in those emails when available. Service, booking, support, billing, or required operational messages may still be sent when needed. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing basewater@proton.me.
